Hemi-synthesis: An immersive flow of binaural sound waves composed with a custom tuned set of large acoustic quartz bowls
In the PRS Lecture Room!
Join us for this hour long session of hemispheric tuning and synchronization with artist, musician, and wellness practitioner Patrica Vernhes.
Submerge in a deep, restorative sound session with a custom tuned set of 14binaurally tuned quartz bowls. Measuring up to 24” in diameter, the bowls are specifically combined to create a “rinse-like” experience on a cellular level. This is accomplished not only with the frequencies at which each bowl resonates, but with how they interact with one another at particular intervals.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a water bottle, a shawl / light blanket and an eye pillow.
Patricia Vernhes
Patricia Vernhes is a multi-disciplinary artist as well a sound and wellness practitioner whose professional musical and visual work has spanned over three decades. Born in Poland at the dawn of martial law, Vernhes grew up touring with her step father’s widely known punk rock band during some of Eastern Europe’s most radical turns in modern history. Shortly after Poland began to transition from communism to democracy, she moved as a teenager to London, where she began her music education and career. During her London years she worked as a solo artist and as the frontwoman of Patti Yang Group. She also collaborated on over 20 film soundtracks.
Her path took another turn twelve years ago, when she moved to the desert in Joshua Tree, California. In 2015, she founded Mojave Desert Skin Shield, a sound therapy, skincare and wellness brand based on the principles of Ayurveda. She is an Ayurveda Yoga & Reiki practitioner, Hatha Yoga and meditation teacher and a sound therapy expert trained at The Integratron. As a steward of the land, her work is an ongoing conversation between the environment and memory through sound, painting, sculpture, and found objects often installed, collected, and exhibited on her property.
